You finished a stream. TikTok says you earned 12,000 diamonds. How much is that actually worth?

The answer isn't straightforward — because TikTok doesn't pay you a flat rate per diamond. Your take-home depends on which missions you completed during and around that stream. Miss your missions and you keep as little as 20%. Hit them all and you keep up to 53%.

This page breaks down every mission and what it's worth, so you can work out exactly what your diamonds are worth in pounds.

How Diamonds Become Cash

There are four steps between a viewer sending you a gift and money hitting your bank account.

Step 1: Viewers Buy Coins

Coins are TikTok's in-app currency. In the UK, the price per coin is roughly the same regardless of bundle size — but it's cheaper to buy coins through the TikTok website than through the app. App Store and Google Play both take a commission on in-app purchases, which typically adds 25–30% to the price.

If your viewers buy coins through the app (which most do), each coin costs approximately £0.009–£0.01. Through the website, it's lower.

Step 2: Viewers Send Gifts

Every gift in TikTok's catalogue has a fixed coin cost — from 1 coin for the cheapest gifts up to tens of thousands of coins for the premium ones. TikTok regularly updates the gift catalogue, so specific gift values change over time. You can always see the current coin cost of any gift by tapping the gift icon during a LIVE stream.

Step 3: Coins Become Diamonds

This part is simple: 1 coin spent by a viewer = 1 diamond for you. If someone sends a gift worth 500 coins, you receive 500 diamonds. The conversion is always 1:1.

Step 4: The Scaled Rewards System

Here's where it gets complicated — and where most creators leave money on the table.

TikTok doesn't give you a fixed percentage of your diamonds. Since early 2025, they've used a scaled rewards system where your payout rate depends on completing specific missions. There are two categories: per-LIVE missions (up to 40%) and weekly missions (up to 13%), giving a maximum possible payout of 53%.

Per-LIVE Missions (Up to 40%)

Per-LIVE missions reset every time you start a new stream. Your rewards are updated immediately after each LIVE ends.

LIVE Duration

This is the biggest single factor in your payout. The longer you stream, the higher your base percentage:

DurationPayout
Under 5 minutes20%
5+ minutes30%
10+ minutes35%
25+ minutes38%

The jump from under 5 minutes to 5+ minutes is the biggest single leap — 10 percentage points. And the jump from 10 to 25 minutes adds another 3%. There's no reason to ever end a stream before the 25-minute mark.

New Unique Followers

Each follower must follow you while you're LIVE to count toward this mission:

New FollowersBonus
1–2+1%
3–4+1.5%
5++2%

This one is worth focusing on — even a small number of new follows during your stream adds to your per-LIVE rate.

Content Quality Adjustment

Any violations of TikTok's LIVE Monetisation Guidelines or Community Guidelines can result in deductions from your rewards. These are reviewed by human moderators before being applied. If you believe a deduction was a mistake, you can appeal. Serious or repeated violations can result in permanent suspension or demonetisation.

Per-LIVE maximum: 38% (duration) + 2% (followers) = 40%

Weekly Missions (Up to 13%)

Weekly missions are updated each Monday based on the previous week's activity.

Valid Go LIVE Days

A day only counts as "valid" if you streamed for at least 25 minutes total that day:

Valid DaysBonus
1 day+6%
2+ days+8%

This is the second-biggest mission after stream duration. Going live on 2 separate days per week is worth 8% on top of your per-LIVE rate. If you can only stream twice, make sure it's on two different days.

Creator League

You can complete one of these per week (not both), up to a USD$1,000 weekly cap:

AchievementBonus
Surpass your highest League ever (e.g., B3 → B2)+3%
A1–A3 creators: don't drop below your starting League+1%

The 3% mission is the more impactful one, but it's only available when you're actively climbing. Once you plateau at your peak league, the 1% maintenance mission (for A-tier creators) is still worth having.

Content Engagement — Active Fans

This metric is dynamic and currently measured by active fans. A fan stays "active" by earning at least 1 fan point every 7 days you go LIVE. Fan points come from sending gifts or comments.

Active FansBonus
10++1%
25++1.5%
50++2%

Building an active fan base is a long game, but it's worth 2% on top of everything else — and it compounds with your other missions.

Weekly maximum: 8% (go-live days) + 3% (league) + 2% (engagement) = 13%

What This All Adds Up To

Here's what 10,000 diamonds looks like at different levels of mission completion:

Worst case (quick stream, no weekly)20%0%20%~£18.80
Short stream, 1 day/week30%6%36%~£33.84

25+ min, followers, 2 days, fans40%10%50%~£47.00
All missions maxed40%13%53%~£49.82

The difference between the worst and best case on the same 10,000 diamonds is £31.02. Over a month of regular streaming, that gap is hundreds of pounds.

Cashing Out

Once you've accumulated diamonds, you can withdraw your balance to PayPal or a linked bank account. The minimum withdrawal threshold is approximately £10, though this can vary by account and payment method. Withdrawals are not automatic — you need to manually request them through Profile → Balance → LIVE Rewards → Withdraw.

Processing typically takes a few business days, and TikTok enforces daily withdrawal limits that may increase as your account matures.

How to Maximise Your Diamond Value

Based on the mission structure, here are the highest-impact actions in priority order:

1. Never end a stream before 25 minutes. The difference between a 24-minute and 25-minute stream is 3 percentage points. On a session where you earn 5,000 diamonds, that's roughly £1.41 — every single stream. Over a month, it adds up fast.

2. Stream on at least 2 separate days per week. This single habit unlocks 8% in weekly bonuses. If you can only stream twice a week, spread it across two days rather than doing a double session on one day.

3. Gain at least 5 followers per stream. The +2% per-LIVE bonus for 5+ new followers stacks on every session. Ask new viewers to follow naturally — make them want to come back, and the follows will come.

4. Build your active fan base to 50+. This takes time, but 50 active fans unlocks the full 2% weekly engagement bonus. Encourage your regulars to join your fan club and interact during streams.

5. Push your Creator League rank. The 3% bonus for surpassing your highest-ever league is significant. Focus on this during weeks when you can stream more than usual.

6. Work with people who understand the system. The scaled rewards system is designed to reward creators who stream strategically — not just frequently. A creator management agency that understands the mission structure can help you build a schedule and strategy that consistently hits the higher payout tiers. A Note on Accuracy

The mission structure and percentages on this page are taken directly from the Scaled LIVE Rewards section within the TikTok app, which is available to all creators with LIVE access. This is always the most accurate source for your personal rate and mission progress.

TikTok has updated the scaled rewards structure multiple times since its introduction in early 2025, so specific missions and thresholds may change over time. The GBP estimates assume an approximate coin value of £0.0094 based on current UK App Store pricing — actual rates may vary slightly depending on how viewers purchase their coins.

What is certain: completing more missions always increases your per-diamond value — stream longer, stream more often, grow your audience, and you'll keep more of every diamond.
